As a part of life, we must all experience pain and suffering sometimes. However, it doesn’t have to feel like the end of the world, as it isn’t, and sometimes, if you think back on little bits of wisdom that you have heard over the years, it can make all the difference.

Of course, when we experience times like that, it may feel as though everything around us is falling apart. And sadly, maybe in that moment, it truly is. But, these times never last forever. Eventually, we find our way out of the dark, and back into the light again. We must remember that failures, setbacks, and tragedies are merely just darker aspects of life.

1. No Matter What Happens, Your Life Will Go On

Many times in life, we are forced to pick ourselves back up and to rebuild our lives. During those times, it may seem to be an impossible feat, but it isn’t. And usually, once we have picked ourselves back up off the ground and rebuilt ourselves, we come out exponentially better.

2. In Order to Move Past Negative Emotions, You Must Feel Them First

No matter how much we want to avoid it, pain is a part of our journey. Sadly, so many of us run from our emotional turmoil. We find ourselves numbing the pain, by ignoring it. And while that may just be a part of the process, we must remember not to get stuck there. Eventually, you will have to feel those emotions to defeat them.

“The best way to get rid of the pain is to feel the pain. And when you feel the pain and go beyond it, you’ll see there’s a very intense love that is wanting to awaken itself.”
– Deepak Chopra

3. Remember to Be Thankful for the Joys of Life

Oftentimes, we get so lost in the negative aspects of our lives, that we become completely buried by them. Don’t do that. When you start to count only the troubles you encounter in life, you will never take a moment to appreciate the raw beauty of everything else. And what kind of life is that?

4. If Your Burdens Become Too Heavy to Bear, Become Strong Enough to Carry Them

There are some things that we cannot change, and past burdens and traumas are one of those. However, instead of focusing on lessening our burdens, we should use them as growing experiences and become strong enough to carry them through to the end. Life is one massive learning experience. Embrace the journey.

5. Always Keep Trying

There will be times when you try and win, adversely, there will be times that you try and fail. Either way, it goes, you must continue to try. You have no chance of winning if you don’t endeavor to try. And during those moments of failure, take a moment to reassess the situation. Then, tackle the situation again from a new perspective. When you learn to use your failures as guidance for the next round, you will ensure and impending victory.

“Next to trying and winning, the best thing is trying and failing.”
– L.M. Montgomery

6. Channel Your Pain and Use it to Change Your Life

When pain does come your way, use it as fuel for the upcoming journey. Did someone hurt you in your relationship? Remember that pain, and use it as guidance for the next chapter. Don’t settle for anything less than what you truly deserve, and that is nothing but the best. Many of the best chapters of our lives will follow after we have been hurt.

7. Never, Ever Stop Smiling and Laughing

Laughter truly is the best medicine, and sometimes, we must laugh to keep from crying. Don’t take yourself, or your life so seriously that you become so wrapped up that you forget to smile. Even on the darkest of days, there is something worth smiling about.

8. Do Not Let Fear Take Over Your Life

“The greatest mistake you can make in life is to continually fear that you will make one.” – Elbert Hubbard

When you spend your days in constant fear of making the wrong decisions, you will never step out of your safety net and into challenging situations that could improve your life. Nothing in life that is worth having will be easy, and nothing worth having will come without road blocks along the way.

9. Challenges Make Our Lives Meaningful

When challenges arise, as they always will, interpret them as opportunities to forge a more meaningful life. It is when we face our challenges head on, and overcome them that we are able to grow the most.

“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” – Joshua J. Marine

10. Be the Master Of Your Universe Through the Power of Your Mind

We are the only ones that can control our own thoughts. If we allow others to influence our thoughts so much that we no longer believe in ourselves, we can lose sight of our own power. To regain this, we must take control of our thoughts. Don’t let your thoughts control you. Reign them in, and change them for a more positive outcome.
