When it comes to being appreciated by others, a lot of people feel as though they’re not getting the recognition that they deserve. However, it seems that the more we appreciate people the more they’re willing to do.

If you want someone to come forth in your life that is going to truly appreciate you, you need to go about it in the right way. Rather than letting people take advantage of your kindness, you need to know how to put your foot down from time to time. You need to look for the right things within yourself and within others if you want to bring forth a connection that will benefit both parties.

Below I am going to go over some things you should consider doing and focusing on if you want to be appreciated by others. These things should be present in your life and you should be looking for them in others as well. The company you keep matters, that much you already should be well aware of.

8 Things You Need To Do To Attract Truly Appreciative People:

1. Don’t keep giving to people who refuse to give back.

Don’t let people keep taking from you if they’re not giving anything back. While we can help others without gaining anything from them if someone isn’t there when you need them in the ways you’re there when they need you why waste your time? Life is too short to spend your efforts on those who refuse to spend their efforts on you.

2. Don’t be too serious.

Laughter is important for each one of us. We all need time to really chill out and share some smiles. Don’t spend all of your time worrying about things or being far more serious than everyone else is.

3. Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not.

When we pretend to be someone we’re not we are usually doing it to please other people. People-pleasing won’t get you anywhere and people won’t appreciate you for doing it. If you want to be appreciated, you need to give up that people-pleasing attitude completely.

4. Don’t take on more than you can handle.

Rather than taking on more than you can handle, know your limits. As someone who understands his or her own limits, you will be able to set proper boundaries with others. Proper boundaries can build a foundation for appreciation if done properly. Others will appreciate you being you and doing what you know is best for your life.

5. Never stop being open-minded.

This world is always changing, and we never know what other people are facing behind closed doors. The more open-minded you are the better. There is no such thing as being too open-minded in this day and age.

6. Don’t let people get under your skin.

Don’t let those who refuse to appreciate or care for you get under your skin. If they don’t do these things they don’t matter. You need to be well aware of that.

7. Be willing to help others when you can.

Sometimes we as human beings need help, the more willing we are to help others the better but only within our means. If you can do something, do it. That having been said, always remember not to put yourself in dangerous situations or situations you’re unsure of.

8. Always be honest with yourself and others.

Honesty is important. The more honest you are with others the more honest they will be with you. This allows you both to move forth in a positive manner.
