In this day and age it might seem like standing out is complicated at best but to be honest, it’s not. While a lot of people feel like they’re under a lot of pressure when it comes to being ‘normal’ right now is the best time to be yourself above all else.

We are all unique in our own ways, and we all are headed down different paths in life. Whether you are blending in and going through the motions or breaking free and taking matters into your own hands can make or break you in this world. You can end up stuck wasting away or really put your all into becoming the best most authentic version of yourself that you possibly can.

If you’re struggling with really working to be more yourself, you are in the right place. The following things are going to really help you to break the mold that this world has placed before you and embrace all you have to truly offer your higher self. You are capable of so much more than you realize.

8 Ways To Break The Mold:

1. Surround yourself with people who are also willing to be themselves.

When we are surrounded by people who are all doing and saying the same things we also fall into that habit. If we change this pattern and create diversity within our lives we can overcome this. The more you surround yourself with people who are willing to share their true thoughts with you the further you will get on your own journey as a whole.

2. Cut ties with toxic people who only want to bring you down.

Cutting ties with toxic people is not easy but it is important. The more a person hurts you the less they deserve to be in your life. You have to know your own limits and reinforce your boundaries above all else.

3. Add more passion to your life and do not do things that you truly do not want to do.

We all need to be passionate about things in our lives. If you’re unable to find something you love to do you need to do some soul-searching. Life is not as cut and dry as we make it out to be, you can be quite full if you find passion and embrace it.

4. Find things you enjoy and embrace those things, point-blank.

There are tons of things in this world that you can try out and give a chance. Figure out what makes you happy and what brings you joy and embrace those things. Do not let yourself remain in a constant state of boredom.

5. Be present in each moment before you.

We all live our lives in the ways that we see fit but if you’re not being present in the moment you’re not thinking things through properly. Each moment we face is important and can help us grow tremendously. How are you growing?

6. Ask yourself why you do the things you do.

Be truthful with yourself and come to understand the life you live. Through discovering more about yourself you are able to make changes that need to be made. If you don’t know why you’re doing something and you’re not sure you want to do that something anyway, perhaps you shouldn’t be doing it.

7. Stop letting other people make your decisions.

Stop being a stepping stool. Don’t let other people walk all over you and be more willing to decide the things in your life for yourself. If it’s not going to affect someone else, they have no means of saying anything about it unless you give them that power over you.

8. Stop caring so much about the thoughts of others, they do not define you.

Other people and the way they think about you is not always what is true. The thoughts of others do not always end up as they should be and we are not defined by them. You should never let the things someone else has going on in their minds bring you down or break you as a person.
