We tend to think being able to go through life without facing a toxic relationship is a good thing but honestly, it might not be. We all might need to face this kind of thing on some level for our own overall well-being.
When we face toxic relationships, yes we go through a lot and some toxic relationships are far too much trouble to be worth it but some are worth experiencing because of the growth that comes with them. In this life, we must be willing to feel not only happiness and positivity but pain and negativity in order to really figure out who we are and where we want to be. Now, below I am going to go over why sometimes toxic relationships are important and perhaps after reading this you will feel much better about the things even you have gone through.
7 Reasons Toxic Relationships Are Important To Go Through:
1. Toxic relationships teach us that we can forgive without keeping people in our lives.
When we go through toxic relationships we learn that we can forgive people without keeping them around. Sure, you understand that the person who hurt you might not have been as aware and you don’t hold that against them but you also don’t want to keep letting them hurt you. Through toxic relationships, we come to understand the importance of cutting ties.
2. Toxic relationships show you who truly cares and who just doesn’t.
Toxic relationships really highlight the people in our lives who care about us. We learn that those who hurt us don’t care and those who are actually there when we need them do. As time passes, we really begin to weed out those who do not belong.
3. Toxic relationships show us that not everyone is what they seem to be.
Toxic relationships can begin without being toxic and well, with that we learn that some people are faker than we might expect. There are people out there in this world who know how to put on a happy face and tell you all the things you want to hear before they shift into someone you never imagined they would be. While this is hard to grasp, the more you see it the harder it is to deny.
4. Toxic relationships set us off on a path of self-discovery.
When we go through a toxic relationship we are set off on a path of self-discovery once we find our freedom. When you cut ties with a toxic person you find more and more of yourself with each day that passes. It’s a truly freeing thing.
5. Toxic relationships show us what we don’t want in life or in love.
Toxic relationships are important because they show us exactly what we should never put up with. When we go through them we learn what we want and what we do not want. We don’t tolerate the kind of treatment they offered in future relationships.
6. Toxic relationships teach you to listen to your gut.
The more toxic someone is in your life the more your gut will reach out to you. This in itself helps you become more intuitive and more tuned in to your higher self. I know, that might sound odd but it’s quite true.
7. Toxic relationships teach us that we cannot fix other people.
Toxic relationships are something we tend to go into thinking we can fix someone or make things better for them but as time passes we learn that is not possible. While it’s a hard lesson for us to face, it’s an important one. Through learning this we all grow tremendously.
